Oblivion Awaits

Yeah, if you have nothing better to do for a few minutes then you can read this.

Introduction:

This is for Defense of the Ancients: Allstars, a mod for Warcraft III which sees you controlling only one unit in a real time strategy environment, the hero gains levels and more abilities (4 per hero, 3 regular and one ultimate) as one would in a game like Diablo or another RPG.

The goal of the game is to destroy all your opponent's towers, and then their ancient (aka large building at the back of their base). To aid you, because you're too weak to take the towers alone are wave after wave of minions which no player controls, they just run down 3 lanes lined with towers and die, slowly chipping away at defenses. Your opponent gets them too though. There are 2 teams with 5 players each. So 10 heros per game from a choice of about 50. While the goal is to kill the ancient, it is much more achievable by killing enemy heros and becoming even more powerful (they give the most experience and are taken out of action for some time, enough to destroy towers without fear of retribution) This is my favourite hero with a slightly fitting name:

Pugna, the Oblivion: Orc grunts go to undead magic school when they die.

Forcefully raised from the dead with little memory of his former self, Pugna is truly a terrible sight to behold. Retaining traces of necromantic magic, this shamble of bones finds sadistic pleasure in temporarly (LOL TYPO GG) sending his enemies into a tormented dimension andthen greeting their return with a blast of unholy energy. Those who survived an encounter with the horror often tell tales with fearful eyes of how the Oblivion literally drains life from his enemies, giving him a brief, but satisfying taste of the living.

Twilight Tavern.

This hero is seksy and underappreciated.

Pugna is a powerful, f
ragile hero who either feeds or feeds upon others depending on how well he is played. He has:

  • a powerful, versatile nuke,
  • a fairly useful debuff to aid spellcasters,
  • the Nether Ward of GG SPELLCASTERS,
  • Life Drain which is reallygoodbuteasilyinterrupted.

Hero Overview

Base movespeed is 315.
Base STR is 17 + 1.45 per level. Lawl.
Base AGI is 16
+ 1.0 per level. Rofl.
Base IN
T is 26 + 4.0 per level. HOLY SHIT WTF IMBA!
Base Damage is 45-53.
Base HP is 473.

Base Mana is 338.
Base Armor is 1.2.
Attack Range is 600.

For such a stubby little guy... he runs pretty quickly.

Hero Positives and Negatives

Positives:

Very strong stats, especially his base
damage and movespeed.

His abilities all own, although Nether Blast and Nether Ward own the most.

Sieges bases mad goo
d with Blast to slowly whittle towers and Ward to hamper spellcasters.

Negatives:

Liek lawls if I charge the enemy I die! No wai. Poor HP/armor.

Very skill-dependant hero.

Decrepify is so easily misused that it's painful.

Hero Abilities

Nether Blast[/B] - Blasts units and buildings in a large AOE for substantial damage.

Short casting time. I also don't know the damage it does to buildings because the dota-allstars site is ret
arded.

Level 1 - Deals 100 damage to units in an area.
Level 2 - Deals 175 damage to un
its in an area.
Level 3 - Deals 250 damage to units in an area.
Level 4 - Deals 325 damage to units in an area. Approximately 100 damage to buildings.
See that blast radius? How IMBA is that you ask? The answer is very, you can see the size of the little creeps and even the Oblivion himself in comparison. GG

Pugna is the KING of last hitting towers, all because of this spell. As soon as a tower falls below about 150 HP you destroy it instantly and laugh at your team mates because you just got about 500 gp from all their work. It is almost impossible to deny a good Pugna the tower bounty. If you try to let teammates get it, they'll screw up the last hit more often than not, so it's best the gold goes somewhere, like to me.

Decrepify [C]- Pugna banishes a single target, including himself. Banished units move at 50% speed, are unable to attack, and take 40% extra damage from spells. They cannot be targetted by attacks.

Level 1 - 13 second cooldown, lasts 2 seconds.
Level 2 - 11 second cooldown, lasts 2.5 seconds
Level 3 - 9 second cooldown, lasts 3 seconds.
Level 4 - 7 second cooldown, lasts 3.5 seconds.

A spell that, although still pretty good, is pro
bably Pugna's least useful ability.

Far more useful in conjunction with friendly spellcasters because they can blast the shit out of whoever you target along with you.

Do not, under any circumstances, use this on an ally who is about to kill a hero in order to killsteal. That is just retarded and they'll probably escape. (I kept this in because it was funny)

Nether Ward[W]- Summons a retardedly overpowered Ward that passively reduces the mana regeneration of nearby heroes in an AOE, as well as having the ability to deal damage to enemy spellcasters whenever they cast a spell within the AOE. The damage from this is dependant on the amount of mana spent on the spell.

Level 1 - Summons a 100HP ward. Passively reduces nearby heroes' mana regeneration by 150%, and can cast Mana Flare which deals 0.75 times damage per mana spent to any enemy unit that
casts a spell. 700 AOE. Gives 20 gold.
Level 2 - Summons a 200HP ward. Passively reduces nearby heroes' mana regeneration by 300%, and can cast Mana Flare which deals 1 times damage per mana spent to any enemy unit that ca
sts a spell. 1000 AOE. Gives 40 gold.
Level 3 - Summons a 300HP ward. Passively reduces nearby heroes' mana regeneration by 450%, and can cast Mana Flare which deals 1.25 times damage per mana spent to any enemy unit that casts a spell. 1300 AOE. Gives 60 gold.
Level 4 - Summons a 400HP ward. Passively reduces nearby heroes' mana regeneration by 600% (OMFG), and can cast Mana Flare which deals 1.5 times damage per mana spent to any enemy unit that casts a spell (OMFG). 1600 Area of Effect (OMFG!). Gives 80 gold.

Incredibly strong. Plop it down before a big fight and watch the enemy Lina kill herself and a feeder ally in one chain of spells. See, allies who suicide into the enemy line are good for something after all! Fools...

Nether Ward gives gold when killed now. Oh noes... Truly a gamebreaking change indeed.

See if you hide it here in the trees they don't see it and it hurts them. Ever so badly.

[Ultimate]

Life Drain [E] - Pugna drains life from an enemy unit, stealing it as his own.

9 second duration. Channeling.

Level 1 - 95 hit point drain per second. (WTF?)
Level 2 - 140hit point drain per second. (OMG)
Level 3 - 185 hit point drain per second. (OMFG)
Level 4 - 300 hit point drain per second, as well as added Range. (OMFG WTF IMBA)

Powerful ability that allows Pugna to be a constant presence in his lane.

If the enemy hero has no disable, or just used it, Drain can turn a losing battle into a kill as the HP Pugna drains outweighs the damage the enemy hero can dish out.
