Personal Anthem
| When I Grow Up - Garbage (That's a clicky so you can download it *cough*) Ok so I've been obsessed with this song since like year 6 or something but it took me a while to understand what it was on about. Anyway instead of just doing my usual boring lyrics post which nobody reads I'll actually explain why this song is amazing and = me. Lyrically: Shirley Manson is the Bitch Queen of The World and writes the best lyrics ever (especially better than say "tick tock tick tock take a chance you stupid ho" *cough*). The chorus is simple but perfect: When I grow up I'll be stable,On its own those are that great butthen the verses about everything from sex, obsession with people, drinking, being carefree, freaking people out and attacking people after going mental. Putting two and two together yet? :P Musically: It sounds so God damn happy, fast and with lots of "lalala". But really its not. It is cynical and bitchy. Garbage on the song: "It's our Trojan horse." - Shirley Manson "It's fast — 140bpm — but then a lot of the tracks are. It's about refusing to be normal and having to bow to peer pressure." - Butch Vig "There's a song called 'When I Grow Up', which is as pop as we ever get. It's got kind of a 'fa-la-la' chorus." - Duke Erikson Here ends the post about the song I would be if I was a song. :D Lyrics: Cut my tongue out |

post a commentYeah, I like this song. But I always thought it was something more along the lines of "Chill da fuck out Mum, Dad. When I grow up I'll be stable. Let me have my fun now..."
