Ok so I'm thinking about moving in with one of my friends from uni and a bunch of her mates.
Where? Claremont. Just off Stirling Highway.
Rent $70 a week but then depending on the water/gas/electric blah it might go up to about $100.
That's pretty fucking reasonable if you ask me. The cheapest I know someone is paying is $80 for everything, right next to uni. (Lucky bitch!) And the most I know is I think more than $200 a week. (pretty gay). The whole lack of housing in Perth thing has made stuff pretty expensive.
Anyway. I have weighed to pros and cons:
Pros:
- Get out of home while still being about 10 minute car trip away.
- Pretty cheap, especially for a house in the area.
- Close to Claremont station, (ie the one every express train stops at as well as the regulars) and closer to the circle route.
- The nearby Claremont CBD with all the cool shops. Which I have nothing like anywhere near me right now.
- Staying with 3 cool people my age who I can carpool to uni with. (but they might get pissed that I don't drive so I can't really contribute other than leeching lifts. Which I know is pretty irritating.)
Cons:
- I'll need to find a decent job ASAP because the move out is the end of May AND I've been looking since forever with no success.
- I still don't drive which might complicate things.
- It is technically further away from everyone than I am now. Including Uni.
- Mum will fucking freak the motherfucking fuck out bit time (extra fucks to emphasise the fucking drama)
- The lease is only until the end of Uni this year. (But since George's mum is the owner George will probably get to keep it unless we screw up.)
- It is near MLC. MLC mothers are evil and dangerous and annoying.
Neutral: I doubt such a good price/location will come up again. So I have to make the desicion pretty soon.
I would like people's opinions.
If it's not too much to ask I would also like the opinions to consider the positives and negatives because this is really serious and not just "OMG COOL MOVING OUT TELL UR MUM 2 FUCK OFF LAWLZ!!!onE!!11!" |

post a commenttrust me, you are going to quickly find out just how aggravating and horrible and annoying and inconveinient it is by not having a lisence. even moreso by not having a job. not having both will bend you over and fuck you with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire, and trust me on that one. you'll need to both work part-time at least (and just think, that rent price didn't include how much meals are gonna be), and you'll need to work out a RELIABLE WAY to uni, even if it is the bus
OMG COOL MOVING OUT TELL UR MUM 2 FUCK OFF LAWLZ!!!onE!!11!
Just kidding my main man.
Train to Freo (20 minutes), Circleroute to Murdoch(30 minutes).
Worst case scenario? One hour (trains don't have to deal with traffic). One hour is the same as me.
That's one problem solvered.
From what you say, you have almost nothing on your timetable. So you're going to have to find a job or two. Now. I mean fucking NOW.
As in now.
I cannot stress the nowness of now, hence my sounding like a broken record.
A steady job or two.
Other than that, you shouldn't have a huge problem living away from home. You'll just have to see if you can actually live with the people you're moving in with...
Good luck man!

Sorry about double comment, connection acting like a retard man.
Good luck again.
my advise, only move out if you can afford it
that means you have to at least make over $150 a week, otherwise its all good.
