"The Andy Callison Project" at Rosemount: das details
| AKA Eskimo Joe are going to the states for what is probably a very long time and they wanted to do a small gig for their 'friends'. (They called us their friends) Laura wrote this and I'm just copy/pasting/editing bits because it covers last night pretty well. I'm doing a blog about the 3 shows tomorrow after Lily Allen. Pretty much a mini version of their stage show, they played everything except Sucide Girl and Life is Better with You. A guy I go to uni with was one of the Bartenders which was randomly cool. They were all hawt. Laura was pretty much giggling and fangirling all night despite the amount of times we've done these things. Hilarious. Hung around them like crazy people. Stu walked past us several times without even so much of a bat of an eyelid! lol. But we did get to talk to him after the show, shook his hand and gave our best wishes. Me and Laura talked to Joel before and after the show. First thing we said was "we love your shoes!" which made him laugh. Finally introduced myself. Pretty sure he was laughing at us during the gig because we were maybe yelling things/dancing like retards. Kav decided to go into a TMI spiel about how he came up with BFRW... "I was chucking a piss in the toilets upstairs and um. Yeah came up with Black Fingernails Red Wine." Joel: And the next song is London Bombs. NOT BFRW. Kav: Yeah >_> Um. Oh. *facepalm* Stood smack in the middle of the front of the stage, right in front of Kav. At one stage, Kav put down his bass right in front of Laura. Eddie was like "touch it!" so she and Jess did. Feel the power!!! muwhaha. Joel/Stu = sexual tension. At one point, Joel walked right up to Stu as they were playing and got a bit too close. We were shouting "kiss dammit!" and there was a bit of a "MAKEOUT" chant. After-gig orgy, anyone? Stu: Um no Joel: Aww what's wrong? After their second last song, Kav jumped off the stage, walked to the bar and got himself a glass of red wine. It was hilarious. Everyone's just standing there going "Um. so. Yeah." There were some lamers who kept shouting "play Sweater" or "Turn Up Your Stereo" to which Stu replied "Sweater? No, never heard that one". "Andy Callison doesn't play those. Eskimo Joe gets angry." Got one of Shaun's drum sticks. Got to talk to Joel and Kav after the show. Told Joel about how we didn't want to seem rude by interrupting him talking with his friends, so we kept waiting before getting a chance to chat. Introduced ourselves to him (and Stu) as their "official stalkers". "We're the crazy people dancing up the front" "Oh good, we always need more of those" He also joked about us going through his rubbish, to which we said we just want to make sure they're recycling every week, especially after Live Earth. He also explained the name: Andy Lawson was one of there support acts while they were on tour together, but his equipment stuff somehow got mixed up with someone else's and thus accidently got renamed. Their name was sort of a "homage" to him, just to rub it in some more. Did not get to talk to Kav for as long as I wanted to *woes* But he was surrounded by many of his friends, so he was in demand and again, I didn't want seem rude but I said hi and good luck. |
