Gigs x4

Butterfly Effect It seemed pretty good at the time and it was heaps of fun (probably more because of the jokes about the crappy openers Ben and I were cracking). I think we didn't really know them that well to appreciate the music as much. We left before the last few songs in favour of kebabs. 'The Andy Callison Project' (Eskimo Joe) This was really fun. It was a really small, intimate venue. They played basically the same setlist as the Metro's gig though which was a shame because I was hoping to hear some other songs before they go away. We talked to them afterwards but it was way obvious that they didn't really feel like talking to fans that much so we just left after a few minutes. Got a drumstick :D. Lily Allen Oh my actual gwenstefani. She's actually the most hilarious/amazing person ever (apart from the obvious Katy/Shirley gods). I was front/centre and met up with a Alyson (a girl from uni I haven't seen in a year). Both of us were by ourselves so we were happy there was someone we knew. Lily kept laughing/pointing at us because we knew all her songs (even the covers which she had to look at the lyrics for. That made her feel awkward). Her voice was perfect and her live songs are even better than the album tracks. Katy Steele She's opening for Paul Kelly while the rest of Little Birdy have a break before the upcoming national tour but she's doing a few solo shows beforehand. (There's one on today at the Balmoral in Victoria Park if anyone's interested :P It starts about 4:30.). I think my 238596 messages have already described how amazing this was but I shall list the highlights again. Simon from The Colours had a set beforehand and he's fucking awesome. Katy dedicated Now the Rain is Falling to Me, Lulu and Kimba. (Probably only about 5 people there know this one because it's really old, from their second EP) Katy said she loved me and that we were the best fans ever. I was waiting for photos but my sister has our SD card reader. So they'll be up some other time.
