Al Capowned

Mum discovered I was finishing an assignment the day it was due.

Oh snap.

"Get off the bloody machine and do some work! And don't think you're going out again until you finish uni!"

"Mum I had everything undercontrol"

"NO! DOING STUFF AT THE LAST MINUTE ISN'T "UNDER CONTROL".

My favourite part was how last wednesday she was like "I don't care what you do at uni, and what marks you get, I'm not paying for it".

I think she was just angry that I asked her to drive me to uni to drop it off. I didn't want to spend 70 minutes on public transport to spend 3 minutes at uni.

Anyway, today I was told I'm allowed 3 hours a day AFTER I've done all my work. WTF I'm not in year 10. (She said I haven't changed a bit since then and she'd treat me appropriately.) That made me very angry and I yelled back at her and she was shocked and looked hurt because I said mean things and then I took the dog for a walk for 2 hours. She's magically all nice to me again now... I still can't go out though, she knows I won't argue with her in front of my siblings.

While on that walk I probably listened to the songs on my phone about 3 times each and that, and certain txt message responses, inspired this:
  1. Zeromancer - Doctor Online
  2. When I am Queen - Jack off Jill
  3. Seabeast - Mastodon
  4. Lithium - Evanescence
  5. She-Wolf - Megadeth (Yes I was pissed at my mum)
  6. Diary of Jane - Breaking Benjamin
  7. Love is only a Feeling - The Darkness
  8. Light My Way - Audioslave
  9. Judith - A Perfect Circle
  10. Shut Your Mouth - Garbage
  11. The Patient - Tool
  12. ... And Justice for All - Metallica (Justice IS raped)
  13. Until the End - Kittie

I know I seem to keep on saying "Fight her!" :p but seriously, if there's one way to show a shouty parent that you've changed, it's; 1) Being able to shout back, and 2) Being able to make a point while shouting.

Perhaps if another conflict occurs based on the same argument, remind her that she said that stuff about "not caring".

But in the end, she probably /is/ just trying to look out for you. Why would she want to let you fail uni if there was anything she could do about it?

Wow Adamo. You saying you did?

Dude, is there anyone who isn't a total square in your family?

It's pretty obvious your mum is trying to look after you, but she's doing it in a totally wrong way.

My mum is doing the exact same thing, and the reason I'm not complaining much is because she's totally right. I haven't studied shit this semester, and done fucked up good last semester.

In your case (and in my opinion), your mum is wrong. Seriously, wtf are you gonna do with 3 hours? And how the hell is she ever supposed to expect you to be independent if you can't make your own decisions and mistakes? (I have the same problem)

Anyhoo, that's my two cents, don't think it was particularly cohesive.
