Top 10 Shit

ALBUMS OF 2006

1. The Dresden Dolls - Yes Virginia. Man I love every song on this album so much. It is so damn good what these guys achieve with a two piece band. Every song blows my mind and it was this album which got me back into music (as in like, playing not listening). I'm still cut over missing their concert. It wouldn't of been so bad if it wasn't 8 days before my birthday. DAMN YOU PARENTS FOR NOT SEXING IT UP 8 DAYS EARLIER.

2. Blood Mountain - Mastodon. This guys are really cool and the songs are hot stuff. Faves are "The Wolf is Loose", "Circle of Cysquatch" and "Pendulous Skin". I love the theme that they give all their albums too. It is just really creative and not what I'd expect from a metal album (Ben is SOOO going to flame me for that)

3. Evanescence - The Open Door. Man I love Amy Lee's voice. It is so damn haunting. I love this album for the strings and piano just as much as the usual metal elements. "Lacrymosa", "Lithium" and "Call Me When You're Sober" and "Weight of The World" definately win the hardest.

4. Eskimo Joe - Black Fingernails Red Wine. These guys have gotten so much better in recent years and Murdoch Pride for the win. Clearly my favourites are "Sarah" and "Black Fingernails Red Wine"

5. Little Birdy - Hollywood. COME ON! COME ON! Little Birdy are so awesome. This album is definately more accesible than Big Big Love but it still has that Little Birdy touch which makes them so unique.

6. Gwen - The Sweet Escape. My guilty pleasure like LAMB was last year (cough) Don't Get it Twisted, Breaking Up, Fluoresent and 4 in The Morning are great songs. Other than that this album isn't really my thing. I guess the fact that it is Gwen makes me like this album more than anything else. Oh and the video clip to Wind it Up. Jesus.

7. Trivium - The Crusade. 2006 was such a good year for Roadrunner Records. Wow. This album is great. The tracks really flow well. Don't know what to say except I can't fucking wait to hear Anthem (We are the fire) live. The place is going to go psycho.

8. Dragonforce - This would probably be higher if I didn't just get it yesterday. The second I put it on I was smiling and just insanely happy. Probably because the first track is the one from my myspace that I've known for a little while but still. YAY. Andrew described them as Musical Masturbation and that is pretty acurate

9. No Doubt - Everything in Time. This would be higher also but like, I'm cheating. It was first released in the No Doubt Boom Box set in 2004 or something but re-realeased by itself this year. It is B-Sides, Rarities and Outakes and has stuff like "Cellophane Boy" and "You're So Foxy" which are some of my favourite No Doubt songs.

10. Lily Allen - Alright, Still. :D:D:D She's just so CHEERFUL and her lyrics are so good even though they are casual and not poetic AT ALL. It's just like WOW YOU WIN. LDN and Smile are great. She's performing at the BDO too bitches. So if you're going you best give her a listen.

David's Top 5 Websites of 2006:
1) No Doubt Australia.
Run by my internet friend Bec in Melbourne. She wins and her website is the shit.

2) No Doubt Fan Forums
I wasted so much time on hear this year. It is such a cool place to hang out and talk ND and laugh at the retards who cry if you say something like "Gwen isn't perfect she's just cool"

3) MYSPAZZ
This place WINS. It is so good for talking to people, organising things and keeping in touch with those who you don't see very often. Also mine has SHIRLEY MANSON BEING HOT spammed all over it.

4) FAGBOOK
Facebook is myspace for people who are too indie and too snobby for myspace. It groups you together in networks based on where you study so it is easy to find people from your uni.

5) Lastfm
This place is cool. It keeps track of the music you listen too and recommends you music based on this. It is how I found a couple of really cool artists this year

I like this, but I'm silly, so I didn't download or buy 10 new albums that came out this year.

Where's Karmacode? Or is that a Berto thing???
