Geelong Day 2

Day 2: Geelong!

So I woke up about 10am because I hadn't slept on the plane/the night before. I decided to pub it up in Geelong which was a brilliant choice. With being a responsible alcoholic in mind I decided to take the 1pm train and waste money on awesome shit until then. I purchased some sexy stuff from Dangerfield (seriously I could have spent $1 billion there but I didn't. I spent $70.)

Then I got a coffee.

THEN I hit the train. It was more comfy than the aeroplane so I enjoyed the 1 hour trip immensely. Geelong is pretty awesome (read: I now want to live there), it's like Fremantle but BIGGER. The only problem is everyone has mullets, beer guts and ford/holden utes. They are SO friendly though, unlike Perth bogans. Maybe I didn't go to the place where the Gary Ablett (or however you spell his name) family are from? I was talking about the place with a random lady for a good 30 minutes and found out that there are two good 'young people' pubs and a few decent galleries and a marine history themed waterfront - heaven. After wandering the streets/waterfront to just check the place out (so. cool!). I headed to the Art Gallery which

FUCKING SHITS ALL OVER PERTH'S LIKE WOAH.

Seriously. PLUS there were TWO performance spaces next to it. Not just "Pica-which-never-has-different-stuff".

Then I got a beer at the National Hotel (aka 'Nash'). It was ok but way too quiet (Tuesday at 3pm quiet, surprisingly) so I moved on to a magical place named The Barwon Club Hotel. On the way I dropped by Skilled Stadium but I didn't see Gary Ablett (to punch him for my family) or Jimmy Bartel (to jump him for Kristina). At Barwon everyone was ridiculously friendly and I stayed for about 90 minutes just chatting about Geelong, the footy (lmaoing @ Freo), and other random things. Then I got a FREE beer because I'm on holiday/liked Geelong so it's now my favourite place on the planet forever.

Upon return I heard Bec was coming out of a concert near Federation Square so we spent 7 hours (maybe 30 minutes) looking for a place to eat (it was like 11pm). We settled for Maccas which had the WORST service ever. Bec got 2 raw, cold burgers in a row after complaining. WTF it was dodgy even by Maccas' standards.
